N-Scale 20th Century Limited: Precision Railroad Models

Prototype Information:

Called �The Most Famous Train in the World�, the New York Central �20th Century Limited� is one of the classic and most recognizable named trains of the 20th Century. Headed by some of the world�s most famous locomotives and connecting the great cities of New York City and Chicago, the �20th Century Limited� - along with its competitor from the Pennsylvania Rail Road the �Broadway Limited� - operated for more than 60 years.

Now, coming in late 2020, Kato USA will finally be paying homage to this classic train in N Scale, recreating the train as it appeared in 1948-1954 (a perfect era match with the �Broadway Limited�), with a sleek two-toned grey color and pair of streamlined E7A locomotives with brand new tooling for this project!

Announcement Video: Published 10/15/20 - Check out this feature video from the Kato Youtube channel that compares footage of the real world Post-1948 20th Century Limited with the N scale model. This video will break down all of the features of the new Kato named train set, as well as the new E7A locomotives that are being released to pull it. It even contains a look (or more accurately, a listen) at the ESU LokSound Equipped versions of the E7A locomotives, available by special order!

Red Carpet Service:

The New York Central prided itself on its �red carpet treatment� of passengers of the 20th Century, who would board the train walking across an elegant maroon carpet emblazened with the 20th Century's logo. As a special treat, the Kato 20th Century Limited train will include a "red carpet" re-railing tool, allowing you to place your cars in similar extravagent style!

Specific interior and exterior details that match the 50's era consist, including such iconic cars as the "big window" observation!
Shock absorber construction gives even traction and performance, fitting for these "water level route" cars!

Interior of cars can be lighted with optional installation of #11-211/212 LED Interior Light Kits
Released along with a pair of newly tooled EMD E7A locomotives era appropriate to pull the train!
E7A locomotives are DCC friendly and compatible with Digitrax DN163K0D or Train Control Systems K0D8-G decoders.
